Secure Our Future, Secure Our Southern Borders!

As compassionate as we may want to be, it is critical that we have a fair and  enforceable immigration policy that includes requiring citizens and non- citizens alike to cross our borders legally at points of entry.

The threat of an invasion of people via our southern border should be a concern. The worse economic and living conditions become in neighboring countries, the larger the occurrence of illegal border crossings.

It's not that we don't want others to enjoy our quality of life.  It is a matter of preserving the quality of life we currently enjoy.  Mass unregulated growth from foreign countries will drag all of us down to a lower level, and instead of some being able to improve the quality of their lives, it will assist in lowering the quality of life for our children and grandchildren.

I'm not sure if building a wall is the right solution.  At home we should lock our doors and windows.  It is a deterrent.  It's not going to keep everybody out, but it makes it a lot harder and takes more time.  Many of us live in crime free communities but still we lock our homes and vehicles just in case crime visits.

President Trump made a campaign promise and many of his supporters expect him to keep that promise.  Former Presidents including Bill Clinton and Barack Obama encouraged the building of walls along our southern borders. What changed?  It can't be the caravans of citizens from Central American countries.

If we don't put up physical barriers, we need to come up with better border control technology soon.  Keep America great!
